The Full Story:

Hello, I’m Ashly Claiborne-Thurman 30 years old, a wife, a mom, an aunt, a daughter, and most importantly a child of God. In 2020 my life hit rock bottom… I was in graduate school aiming to get a masters in biotechnology. My grandmother fell ill and my husband and I moved with her to care for her in her last days. Covid came she passed and My husband nor myself finished school. We were then called to move to family land and help care for my aunt (grandmothers sister) in her last days. We dropped school and our jobs and moved our kids and got there immediately. Two months later she passed. Before she departed she said we could stay in her mobile home forever. My husband found a great paying job and life was looking better. Christmas 2020 my sister who lived 2 houses away from me fell dead. She was my younger sister my only sibling. We were both pregnant at the same time due to deliver a month apart. She was carrying twins. She had two kids ages four and two at the time. I experienced lost in January 2020 my grandmother, in July 2020 my aunt, and in December 2020 my sister. Life was shattering…. I kept pushing and trying for the sake of my family still here. Stress was getting the best of me … grief was getting the best of me… doctors told me I needed to be induced to have my baby due to preeclampsia. My baby was born in March 2021. We were told we needed to depart from my deceased aunt mobile home by the end of April 2021. My oldest child was school age and was excelling perfectly in the school district, so I wanted to keep her where she was. Instead of moving we thought quickly and made our own space in the same area. We were faced with many more obstacles that I will not mention, but God. As a young girl I always loved to watch Food Network and try different recipes. Cooking was a form of therapy. I have also always had a special touch with children from a young age and once upon a time my sister and I ran our own in-home daycare. Teaching children and nurturing them is also therapy. One of my older cousins gifted me with a crafting machine and I taught myself how to make t-shirts, cups, personalized gifts, and many more crafts, that was a new found love for me. So now here I am beating the odds with things that soothe my mind. I love cooking for people and receiving feedback from them. I love helping children and watching them learn and grow. I love creating different crafts and seeing them showcased. I hope I am able to help you in someway. Thanks for viewing L&S Services.
